The Challenge

Our client, a major U.S. travel agency with billions of dollars in sales, faced significant operational challenges that hindered its growth. Their network of professional travel agents needed a solution to streamline repetitive tasks and manage increasing workloads to increase sales.
Key objectives were to:
  • Manage large amounts of client information efficiently
  • Automate the creation of personalized travel itineraries

To address these issues, the client required a custom-built AI solution that could integrate seamlessly with their agents' day-to-day operations.

The Solution

We partnered with the client to design and implement an AI-powered solution tailored to travel agents. We built a chrome extension and a web based SaaS solution to handle the automation of routine tasks, allowing agents to focus on more strategic, high-value activities.
The project involved three key phases:
1. Building the Team:
A high-performing team was assembled to bring the project from concept to reality:
  • A Lead Engineer: A senior engineering manager from GoJek who had experience scaling complex AI-driven platforms.
  • Product Manager: An ex-founder who built and scaled a VC-backed AI company.
  • Designer: Ensured the assistant's interface was intuitive and accessible for travel agents.
  • Engineering Team: Three engineers with expertise in AI, backend systems, and automation technologies.
2. Running Operations:
An agile development methodology was adopted to ensure fast delivery, with continuous feedback loops from the client. The solution's tech stack included:
  • AI & Automation Developed using Node.js and Javascript to automate tasks like itinerary creation, email generation, and social media management.
  • User Interface A responsive interface built with React, optimized for ease of use on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Database Management: Powered by MongoDB and Clickhouse, allowing for seamless organization of client data, travel preferences, and marketing content.
The development team successfully delivered the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in three months, adhering to the client’s tight go-to-market timeline.
3. Scaling the Solution:
Starting with a small, focused team, the project expanded post-launch to support the growing needs of the client’s travel agents. As the AI assistant learned from agent interactions, it improved its ability to automate tasks and offer smarter recommendations, enabling the platform to scale rapidly.
